DR. GIRI DUA
Dr. Giri Dua has a rich and comprehensive educational background, beginning with a Diploma in Marketing and Advertising, a Bachelor of Arts (Hons), a Master’s in Business Administration followed by a Doctorate in Business Administration as well as in Commercial Science and as a PhD in Management.
Dr. Dua spent the first 2 decades of his career in the field of advertising culminating in his own advertising firm Giri Dua Advertising Pvt Ltd. He led very successful advertising campaigns on an extensive range of Brands that included house-hold names then, such as Promise, Ciba, Bush, Balsara, as well as corporate brands including Caltex, Mafatlal and Terene.
Dr. Dua’s formal association as an educationist began in 1990 when he set up his own education institution which went to become a premier Business School with 4 campuses in India. His was the first management institute in India to receive an ISO 9001:2000 certification, the World´s first ISO 9001:2008 certified Training Institute & India´s first ISO 9001:2008 certified organization. His was the first institution outside Europe, and the only institute in India to be accredited and recognised by the British Accreditation Council for Independent Further and Higher Education.
Dr. Dua’s was the first institution from India to have set up a campus in Europe, when he set up his campuses in London. It was nominated for the UK Trade and Investment award for the ‘Best New Market Entrant’ in the UK in 2008. His institution was rated A+ in India for 7 consecutive years until the time he retired.
Dr. Dua served as an adjunct faculty at Honolulu University, a regional representative of the International Commission for Post-Secondary Education Institutes in Canada and the USA. Dr. Dua has been an active member of the International Council of Distance Education (Norway), the Academy of Management (USA), the International Council for Innovation in Higher Education (Canada) and the Society for Advancement of Management (USA).
Dr. Dua has been a very respected speaker and has contributed on various forums associated with business communities as well as academics. He was amongst the 6 educationists in India and the only one from Pune, to be invited by the British Council to meet Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales in Oct 2003, where he was introduced as a Pioneer of British Education in India. Amongst the many laurels and recognitions received by him, he has also been felicitated by the Calcutta Management Association for his selfless service to the Management Fraternity
